Jagelski & Partners publishes the headline fields of its jurisdiction comparison data as downloadable datasets, so that analysts, journalists, researchers and other publishers can cite one stable, versioned source instead of a screenshot. Each release is a dated CSV and JSON file with a checksum, a field dictionary and a citation line. The live comparators on this site are updated continuously; the datasets are released on a deliberate cadence, so a comparator may be ahead of the file you download.
One record per jurisdiction covered by the crypto-licensing guides on this site, including the jurisdictions whose recorded position is that no licensing regime exists (licence_model = none), each mined from its guide. The fields are the comparator’s headline columns and finder filters: the regime name and model, the regulator, the legal framework, the minimum capital in the native currency as the guide states it, the licence term, the application timeline in months, the corporate-tax headline rate and model, the FATF status, the FATF-style regional body, retail access, EU passporting, and the Year-1 cost band.
Six columns are Jagelski & Partners’ own classifications (region, legal system, licence model, capital basis, corporate-tax model, retail access); EU passporting is a legal conclusion; the timeline bounds are statutory where a statutory clock exists and observed practice where it does not; the Year-1 cost band is derived from a cost model whose numeric ranges are not included in the dataset.
What the dataset does not assert: currency conversions (the generator computes none and removes the approximate USD glosses an author wrote beside a native figure; a statutory amount that is denominated in USD stays), numeric cost ranges (the band is published, the range is not), the reasoning behind each value, the multi-regulator pathways, and the verification history. Those are read in context on the jurisdiction guides and the live comparator.
An empty cell means only that this release exports no value for that field. Each release lists its empty cells in its JSON metadata; the inventory enumerates those cells, it does not distinguish not-applicable, not publicly benchmarkable, unknown or transcription-gap cases. Consult the linked guide and its sources before relying on an empty cell.
The datasets are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0).
Quoting individual values with attribution is citation, not licensed reuse, and needs no permission. Release 2026-09-04 was issued under CC BY-NC 4.0 and its files, which are frozen, still name that licence in their metadata; Jagelski & Partners grants CC BY 4.0 over that release as well, and the terms on this page prevail.

Include https://jagelski.com/data/ in every citation so readers can reach the current documentation, field definitions and release history. Keep the release DOI alongside it to identify the exact version you used; the DOI continues to resolve to that version after later releases. To cite the dataset as a whole, use the concept DOI https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.22334372. Release 2026-09-04 carries no DOI and is cited by this page’s URL instead.
Each statutory value is taken from the jurisdiction guide, which cites the operative instrument (the act, regulation, rulebook or guideline in force) and the regulator’s register rather than secondary commentary. Classification, conclusion and band columns are the publisher’s own, applied under the definitions in the field dictionary. The guides and the matrices behind them are re-verified on a risk-weighted schedule, and every guide carries its own last-updated date. A release is a snapshot of the matrix on the extraction date recorded in its provenance; the release label is not a verification date, and each guide states what each figure was verified against and when. A correction made after a release appears on the live comparator immediately and in the dataset at the next release.
